Sandra M. Mucha is a contemporary artist based in Dallas, Texas. She constructs low relief landscapes that explore the psychological tension between the ingrained memories of her New York home and the physical reality of her current environment. Her practice is uniquely underpinned by a twenty year career in textile design. This industrial background provides the technical foundation for her signature archival builds. Mucha utilizes heavy body acrylics and structural logic to bridge the gap between two dimensional painting and three dimensional form. Drawing from a personal history split between New York and Texas, her compositions function as visual topographies of place. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of North Texas and her work is held in numerous private collections.
